Enugu State Local Government Areas

Aninri Local Government Area has its administrative headquarters in the town of Ndiagbor and the local government council is made up of Mpu, Ndiagbor, Nnenwe, Oduma and Opkanku.

Awgu Local Government Area is amongst the functioning seventeen local government councils in the state with headquarters in Awgu town; it consist of several communities which are Agbogugu, Agbudu, Amoli, Awgu, Awgunta and others.

Enugu East Local Government Area is one out of the existing seventeen local government councils located at the town of Nike-Uno in Enugu with the districts of Nike-Uno, Ugwogo, Mbuli, Njodo, Agbogazi, Ako, Akpoga, Alulu and others.

Enugu North Local Government Area is headquartered at Opkara Avenue in the heart of the commercial upbest of the city. This LGA is comprised of 4 main districts namely Amaigbo Lane, Onuato, Umunevo and Ihenwuzi.

Enugu South Local Government Area is located at Uwani district of Enugu and covers the communities of Akwuke, Amechi, Ugwuaji, Obeagu, Awkunanaw and Amechi-Uwani.

Ezeagu Local Government Area being one of the existing seventeen local government areas in the state is located in the town of Aguobuowa and the communities that make up the council are Aguobuowa, Olo, Iwollo-Oghe, Umana Ndiagu Aguobu-Umu and more.

Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area is one of the seventeen functioning local government councils in Enugu state with its headquarters in Ogbede town; It consists of Diogbe, Aku, Ohodo, Ukehe, Umuna, Umunko, Ekwegbe, Ozalla, Ochima, Ikolo, Idume & Ohebedim.

Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area has its headquarter in the town of Enugu-Ezike and consists of the communities of Etteh, Umuozzi, Ezzodo and Esodo.

Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area is also among the existing seventeen local government areas located in the town of Ibakwa-Aka; some of the communities that make up the LGA are Uhunowerre, Alor, Iheakpu Awka, Ovoko, Uhunowerre, Ibakwa-Aka etc.

Isi-Uzo Local Government Area is a northern senatorial local government in Enugu state headquartered in the town of Ikem; communities under this local government are Umualor, Eha-Amufu, Neke, Mbu and Ikem.

Nkanu-East Local Government Area is headquartered in the town of Amagunze comprising the communities of Ihuopkara, Akpawfu (Akpofu), Amagunze, Amauzam, Owo, Amechi-Idodo, Nara, Nkerefi, Nomeh, Ogbahu, Oruku and Ugbawka.

Nkanu-West Local Government Area is one of the local government in the state located at the town of Agbani, consisting of the communities such as Akpugo, Akegbe-Ugwu, Agbani, Akpugo-Ndiuno, Uwani Akpugo-Obinagu and others.

Nsukka Local Government Area council is situated in the town of Nsukka and the communities under the local government are Ede-Oballa, Nsukka, Eha-Alumona, Okpuje, Opi-Agu, Edem, Umuabor, Opi, Opi-Agu, Okpaligbo, Okutu, Opkuje, Obukpa, Ibagwani etc.

Oji-River Local Government Area is in the town of Oji and is made up of several communities and towns such as Inyi, Akpugo-Eze, Achi-Uno, Oji-River (Urban), Ugwuoba and Awlaw.

Udenu Local Government Area is located in Obollo-Afor town and consists of these communities and towns: Ezima-Uno, Obollo-Afor, Ezima-Agu, Amolla, Igugu, Umundu Orba, Agbodu, Aba, Obollo-Etiti, Obollo-Eke, Imilike-Uno and Imilike-Agu.

Udi Local Government Area is a local government council in Enugu state that has its headquarters in the town of Udi, comprising of the communities and towns of Appakwume-Nze, Okpatu, Affa, Eke, Ebe, Ngwo-Asa, Ngwo-Uno, Obioma, Abia, Amokwe and others.

Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area has its headquarter in the town of Umulokpa and is made up of Adaba, Umulokpa, Ojor, Igga, Adani, Uvuru, Nimbo and others.
