Kogi State Local Government Areas

Adavi Local Government Area counts as one of the LGAs in the state with its capital sited in Ogaminana with the council made up of Abagiri, Adabi, Adabunoze, Adademe, Adonukoko, Akobobe, Aku, Anyoke, Anyoke Enyomo, Atami, Ateba, Ebenitutu, Ebogogo etc.

Ajaokuta is the headquarters of Ajaokuta Local Government Area consisting of many districts and villages which include Ebiya, Ajaokuta, Egayi, Badoke, Bagana, Bataga, Egede, Gaduma, Ganaja, Garegu, Ichmwa, Idibo, Idire, Inara, Kporoko, Obangede and others

Ankpa Local Government Area has its administrative headquarters in Ankpa and the area is made of many towns, wards and villages such as Enjema, Ojoku, Abache, Abo, Acherane, Adde, Aguma, Aka, Akwu, Ankpa, Atuma, Biraidu, Ebakpoti, Ede, Efiwo, & others.

Bassa Local Government Area is in Kogi state and is headquartered in Oguma with 4 major district areas which are Ahutara, Akakana, Akishamishi, Ozonogulo; several wards and villages including Kpepere, Nyimo, Paperi, Rioume, Usaman, Zavkama, Maza &others.

Dekina Local Government Area is located in the town of Dekina as the headquarters, consisting the districts of Birdu, Dekina, Okura, & Egume; villages & wards sush as Adoma, Ajebido, Adum, Agada, Agbajo, Agidibai, Agojeju, Ahojori, Aje-Kelega and others.

Ibaji Local Government Area headquarters is situated in the town of Onyedega, consisting of district, villages and wards such as Adgwu, Ajankoje, Ajitata, Ajmukoje, Akene, Akinia, Akpalobe, Akpanya, Akpiola, Akura, Alakwa, Alogwu and Amabo among others.

Idah is a small Local Government Area in Kogi state consisting the wards and districts of Ede, Ega, Ichala, Igalaogba, Igecheba, Ogegele, Owoli Apa, Ogegele, Igacheba, Igalaogba and Ichala.

Igbalamela Odolu Local Government Area is situated in the town of Ajaka and is made up of the wards, villages and towns of Odolu, Ajaka, Ofodo, Akpanya, Ogbodibo, Agbokete, Ogbolibomi, Ojigbe, Avrugo, Ekwuloko, Oforachi, Oji-Aja and Ubele.

Ijumu is one of the Local Government Areas in Kogi state with the headquarters sited in Iyara town consisting of the one major district and many villages such as Aduge, Agirigbobn-Oke, Aiyegunle Gbede, Aiyeotro-Gbrdde, Aiyere Ayere, Araromi-Gbede etc.

Kabba Bunnu Local Government Area has its administrative headquarters in town of Kabba, consisting of towns, wards and villages of Aiyetoro-Kiri, Akutupa Kiri, Aiyede Igunse, Aiyedun, Ayangan, Ebeleko, Egbeda, Egunse, Idde, Iyan Kabba, Kakun and others.

Kogi as the state's name is a Local Government Area itself and the headquarters is in Koton Karfe comprising of the wards and communities of Abuse Bassa, Achabo, Acheni, Adaba, Adabode, Adagima, Adama, Adamuro-Bassa, Adanya, Adigi-Gwari, Adiho & others.

Lokoja is a local government area headquartered in the town of Lokoja making up the districts, wards and villages of Kakanda, Kupa, Lokoja Rural, Oworo, Akpayan, Eban Kaci,Aledu, Ayinoke, Banda, Abugi, Agini, Angbapu, Arakpo, Awumi, Bagi, and many others.

Mopa-Muro Local Government Area in Kogi state is situated in the town of Mopa and the council consists of towns, wards and villages of Odole, Orokere, Takete Idde, Otafun, Ileteju, Agbofogun, Aiyedayo, Aiyedaro, Aiyede and Okagi.

Ofu Local Government Area has its administrative headquarters located in the town of Ogwoawo and is made of 4 district, wards and many villages including Gwalawo, Igala, Aloji, Ejule, Etakwu, Igo, Ofoke, Ogbonicha, Iboko, Aloma, Itobe,Ogwa, Ugwo-Lawo etc.

Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area is located in Akpata town and consists of many districts, communities,wards and villages of Akpafa, Afuku, Aiyeromi, Akonoboro, Amuguru, Apata, Arawu, Arere, Ayetoro, Efan, Eke, Eku Daudu,Eku Oba, Emayin and others.

Okehi Local Government Area in the state of Kogi is situated in the town of Obangede and consists the districts, wards and villages of Imanu, Inawe, Inochine, Inokoro, Ireapana, Irekovi, Iremariku, Irewagere, Irikuochakoko, Irusuegeze, Isuwen,Itakpe etc.

Okene is a well known city that serves also as the headquarters of Local Government Area, consisting the districts of Okene, Okengwen, Abuga, Agere, Agewa, Acheze, Ere, Obehira-Eba, Obenira-Bete, Odenku, Ozuja, Ukpororo, Ahache Otutu-Are and others.

Olamaboro Local Government Area is situated on the South eastern part of the state with its headquarters in Opko town, consisting of district and villages of Imani, Ogodu, Okpo, Inwa, Iwilli, Iyodo, Mabenyi, Ododa, Oforo, Ofudu, Ogalobe, Ogbodo etc.

Omala Local Government Area is sited in the town of Abejukolo and is made up of the districts and villages of Ife, Ogodu, Ado, Adoka, Agbenema-Ife, Agojeju-Odo, Ajaja, Ajibu, Ajiyolo, Akpacha, Bagaji-Odfo, Bagana, Braidu, Bukami, Drisu-Village and others.

Yagba East LGA headquarters is located in Isanlu town, consisting of the districts of Yagba North-East and Yagba South-east with many villages including Amuro, Iddo, Idofin, Ijowa, Ilafin, Irunda, Isanlu-Itedo,Isanlu-Makutu, Isanlu-Mopa, Iye,Lofin etc.

Yagba West is a Local Government Area of the state domiciled in the town of Odo-Ire, the council contains the districts, wards and villages of Akaka, Assia, Egbe, Ejiba, Iddo, Igbaraku, Isanlu Esa, Iyemerin, Odo-Ara, Odo-Ere, Odo-Eri, Odosin, Ogbe etc.
