Borno State Local Government Areas

Kukawa is a town and also the headquarters of Kukawa Local Government Area consists of 10 wards which are Alagarno, Baga, Bundur, Kauwa, Doro / Duguri, Dogoshi, Kekeno, Kukawa, Modari / Barwati, and Yoyo.

Abadam Local Government Area is situated in thr town of Malumfatori and the council area covers communities of Banowa, Jabullam, Fuguwa, Arege, Yau, Yawa Kura, Mollam Kaunari and Kudokurgu.

Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno state is sited in the town of Askira, as it contains district and communities of Bagiau, Chul, Dum Bam, Giwa Kir Koma, Jimbulumu, Kauthlama, Njoma, Uba, Uwataku, Yimirali, Dille, Gegombi, Huyum, Kuhi & others.

Bama is a town and also the headquarters of the LGA council covering the districts of Kaigamari, Zarawuyaku, some notable areas and wards such as Andara, Ajiri Wulba, Buduwa, Jere, G.R.A, Lowcost Housing Estate, Malima Road and others.

Bayo Local Government Area of Borno State is domiciled in Biriyel town and consists of the wards and communities of Bayo, Balbaya, Fikayel, Gamadadi, Jara Dali,Jara Gol,Limanti, Teli, Wuyo and Zara.

Biu is a town and the headquaters of Biu Local Government Area, covering the district areas and wards of Zarawuyaku, Waka, Mandara, Abdu, Garwashina, Tabra, Burutai, Dadin Kowa, Dugja.,Garubula, Gur, Kenken, Mandara Girau, Miringa, Sulumthla & Yawi .

Chibok Local Government Area is one of the area councils in Borno state covering the communities, wards and villages of Garu, Likama, Wuntaku, Gatamarwa, Kautikari, Korongilim, Kuburmbula, Mbalala, Mboa Kura, Pemi, Shikarkir and Chibok.

Damboa Local Government Area is sited in the town of Damboa and consists of the wards & areas of Ajign, Azur, Multe, Forfor, Bego, Yerwa, Ngurna, Damboa, Gumsuri, Misakurbudu, Kafa, Mafi, Mulgwai, Kopchi, Nguda, Wuyaram, Wawa & Korede.

Dikwa is an emirate, headquarters and Local Government Area amongst other communities and wards of Dikwa, Sheffri, Boboshe, Dikwa, Gajibo, Magarta, Mallam Maja, Mudu, Kaza, Muliye, Jemuri, Ngudoram, Sogoma, Afuye, Ufaye and Gujile.

Gubio Local Government Area headquarters is in the town of Gubio, comprising the wards and communities of Ardimini, Dabira, Felo, Gamowo, Gazabure, Gubio Town, Kingowa, Ngetra and Zowo.

Guzamala Local Government Area in Borno state is in the town of Gudumbali and the area council covers the others communities and wards of Aduwa, Gudumbali East, Gudumbali West, Guworam, Guzamala East, Guzamala West, Kingarwa, Mairari, Moduri and Wamiri.

Gwoza Local Government Area has its headquarters in Gwoza town and consists the wards & towns of Ashigashia, Balangaje, Balazala, Barawa, Bokko, Bulabulin, Duma, Falagwe, Gadful, Bubayawa Gudul,Ngoshe Pulka,Ashigashiya, Bita, Izge, Dure, Wala, Warabe etc.

Hawul Local Government Area has its administrative headquarters in the town of Azare, comprising of wards & districts of Sakwa, Kwajaffa Hang Kwaya-Bur Tanga-Rumta, Marama, Kidang, Pama, Whitambaya, Puba, Vidau, Lokoja, Hema, Hawul, Shaffa and others.

Jere Local Government Area is situated in the town of Khaddamari, as the council consists of towns & wards like Dala-Lawanti, Dusuman, Gamboru, Gomari, Gongulong, Jere, Koshebe, Lawanti, Maimusari, Mairi, Mashamari, Masu, Ngudda, Tuba & others.

Kaga Local Government Area is situated in the town of Benisheikh, consisting of communities & villages of Afa, Borgozo, Dogoma, Jalori, Dongo, Galangi, Guwo, Karagawaru, Mainok, Marguba, Ngamdu, Shettimari, Tobolo, Wajiro, Burgumma, Wassaram and others.

Kala Local Government Area in Borno state is located in the town of Rann, amongst other wards and towns of the council include Kalam, Kulakula, Kulakura, Kulkaraka, Kutilar, Mada, Moholo, Masana, Maleri, Mokholo, Ran, Sabba, Sigal and Tilam among others.

Konduga town doubles as the Local Government Area headquarters, amongst other towns and wards of the area are Lamboa,Bazamri, Dalori, Kellumiri, Konduga, Malari, Ngalimari, Wanori, Yabal, Garu, Auno, Chabbol, Wanori, Dawa East, Kangamari, Jewu and others.

Kwaya Local Government Area has its administrative headquarters in the town of Kwaya Kusar and the area consists of the districts and villages of Gondi, Kusar, Gusi, Billa, Guwal, Kubuku, Kurba, Kwaya Kusar, Peta, Wada, Yimirthalang, Algarno & others.

Mafa Local Government Area of Borno state is located in town of Mafa and the council covers other districts and villages of Masu, Mujigine, Tamsu, Ngamdua, Anadua, Kajari, Loslari, Mafa-Nguranna, Mafa, Abbari, Mbuta, Mijigine, Siguabuya, Umarari & others.

Magumeri is a town and doubles as a local government headquarters and the council area is made up of communities like Hoyo, Magumeri, Ayi, Yasku, Furram, Borno Yesu, Gaji Ganna, Chin, Gowa, Ngubala, Ngamma, Kavevam, Ngamma II and Kalizoram.

Maiduguri is both a LGA and the state capital of Benue State. The area council consists districts of Maiduguri Urban, Bolori I & II, Bulablin I & II, Gamboru Liberty, Gwange I & II, Shehuri North, Shehiri South, Mafoni, Limanti, Lamisula and Jabba Mari.

Marte Local Government Area is located in the town of Marte, as the area council consists districts of Ala, Marte, Alla Lawanti, Borsori, Gumna, Kulli, Kirenowa, Mawulli, Njine, Zaga and Kabuluwa.

Mobbar Local Government Area is in the town of Damasak, which area council covers communities of Chamba, Asaga, Mobbar, Damasak, Duji, Kaveto, Layi, Zanna Umorti and Ghashagar.

Monguno is a Local Government Area with headquarters in town of Monguno and the council area contains communities and villages of Monguno Kumalia, Damakuli, Kaguram, Mintar, Mofio, Ngurno, Sure, Wulo, Yele and Zulum.

Ngala LGA has its administrative headquarters in Gambolu Town and districts of Gambolu, Fuye I & II, Ngala, Ndufu, sagir, Tunokalia, Warshele, Wulgo, Rana, Wurge, Old Gamboru and Logumane make up the area council.

Nganzai LGA has an administrative headquarters in Gajiram town with the area council consisting communities and villages of Nganzai, Badu, Alarge, Damaram, Gadai, Kuda, Kurnawa, Maiwa, Miye, Sugundure, Gajiram and Sabsabuwa.

Shani Town doubles as the Local Government Area headquarters and the area council covers other communities and villages like Gasi, Buma, Bargu, Shani, Lakundum, Gora, Gwolasho, Gwashaka, Kombo, Kubo, Kwaba, Salifawa and Wokama.
