Niger State Local Government Areas

Agaie is a local government area of Niger state with its administrative headquarters in the town of Agaie, as Boku, Dauaci, Ekossa, Ekowugi, Ekobadeggi, Ekowuna, Etsugaie, Kintako, Kintifi, Kutiriko, Magaji and Tagagi.

Agwara Local Government Area is one of the local council in the state which is situated in Agwara town and the area consists of Abebugur, Agwara, Akisanri, Alhaji-Da Are, Berkete, Boro Gandugi, Budo, Budo Kadinta, Budo Saidu, Budo Sule and many others.

Bida is a commercial town and also doubles as local government area headquarters and the council area consists districts of Bida, Bariki, Kyari, Dokodza, Landzun, Masaba, Masaga, Wadata, Nassaratu, Umaru, Majigi, Mayaki Ndajiya and Ceniya.

Borgu Local Government Area is situated in New Bussa and lies in the northwestern area of the state and the council area covers the districts of Borgu, Dugga, Babana, Karsbonde, Konkoso, Malale, New Bussa, Shagunu, Wawa and Riverline.

Bosso is a local government area in Niger state domiciled in town of Maikunkele and the local government area consists districts of Bejo, Beji, Bosso, Chanchaga, Garatu, Kampala, Kodo, Maikunkele, Maitumbi and Shata.

Chanchaga Local Government Area in Niger state has its administrative headquarters in capital city of Minna and the area council covers districts of Babeji,

Edati Local Government Area of the state is located in Enagi town and the area council comprises the districts of Edati, Enagi, Etsu Tasha, Gazhe, Fazhi, Gbangban, Gonagi, Guzan, Rokota and Sakpe.

Gbako Local Government Area is sited in the town of Lemu and the local government area consists the towns of Gbako, Lemu, Batagi, Gogata, Edokoto, Edozhigi, Etsu Audu, Gbadafu, Nuwankota and Sammajiko.

Gurara Local Government Area of Niger state is situated in town of Gwan and this area council is made of districts of Abuchi, Baji, Boku, Bonu, Daku, Dikko, Gawu, Guna, Gurara, Gwachife, Gwari, Izom, Kabo, Kadna, Kaka, Kungo, Kungoshi, Kwaka and others.

Katcha is a town and also the local government area headquarters and districts of Katcha, Kataregi, Gbakogi, Essa, Edotsu, Bisanti, Bakeko, Badeggi, Dzwafu and Sidi Saba made up the local government area.

Kontagora being a major town also host the local government area headquarters and the area council consists of Kontagora Central, Arewa, Gabas, Kudu, Madara, Magajiya, Masuga, Nagwamatse, Rafin Gora, Tungan Kawo, Tunganwawa, Usalle and Yamma.

Lapai is a local government area in the state with administrative headquarters in Lapai town and the area council covers the districts of Lapai, Gupa, Gurdi, Kudu, Muye, Takuti, Gulu, Evuti, Arewa, Yamma, Birnin Maza, Tashibo, Gbacinku, Kpada and others.

Lavun Local Government Area is situated in the town of Kutigi, as the area council consists districts of Lavun, Busu, Batati, Dabban, Dassun, Doko, Edatti, Egbako, Gaba, Jima, Kutigi, Lagun, Mambe, Kuchi and Mambe.

Magama Local Government Area has its administrative center in Nasko town and the local government area contains the districts of Nasko, Magama, Auna Central, Auna East, Auna Southeast, Auna East Central, Ibelu Central, Ibelu North, Ibelu West and others.

Mariga Local Government Area is located in the town of Bangi and the area council is made of districts of Mariga, Bobi, Deri, Bangi, Igwama, Kakihom, Kontokoro, Kumbashi, Maburya and Gulbin Beka.

Mashegu Local Government Area doubles as a town and a local government area headquarters and the area council consists the towns and villages of Mashegu, Dapangi, Makera, Babban Rami, Ibbi Kaboji, Kulho, Kasanga, Kwotachi, Mazakuka, Likoro and others.

Mokwa Local Government Area has its administrative headquarters in the town of Mokwa and this area council consists the districts of Mokwa, Rabba, Ndayoko, Muregi, Kudu, Takuma, Kpaki, Ja'agi, Bokani, Muwo, Gbajibo, Gbara, Jebba North and Labozhi.

Munya is a local government area with headquarters in the town of Sarkin Pawa and the districts of Angunu, Beni, Chibani, Dandaudu, Dangunu, Daza, Fuka, G.Auta, Gini, Gwaderi, Kabula, Kazai, Kuchi, Munya, Sarkin-Pawa and Zaggaga.

Paikoro Local Government Area has its administrative headquarters in Paikoro town and the area council is made of districts of Paikoro, Gwam, Adumu, Chimbi, Ishau, Jere, Kafin Koro, Kwagana, Kwakuti, Nikuchi T, Paikoro Central, Tutungo Jedna and Mallam.

Rafi Local Government Area is sited in the town of Kagara and the area council consists districts of Rafai, Kagara, Guna, Kusheri, Kwon, Goma, Tegina, Kongoma Central, Kongoma West, Kundu, Kushirki North, Kushirki South, Sabon Gari and others.

Rijau Local Government Area of Niger state has its administrative center in town of Rijau and the area council consists districts of Rijau, Dukku, Dugge, Danrangi, Genu, Jama'are, Shambo, T/Bunu, T/Magajiya, Ushe, Genu and Warari.

Shiroro Local Government Area is situated in the city of Kuta, with the composition of districts of Shiroro, Galkogo, Kuta, Allawa, Bassa, Bangajiya, Kukoki, Egwa, Gwada, Gussoro, Erana, Gurmana, Kurebe, Kwaki, Chukwuba, Kato, Manta, Pina and others.

Suleja Local Government Area is situated in the city of Suleja and the area council consists districts of Apia, Bagama, Buru, Burum, Bwoi, Chimbi, Chizako, Dachine, Dwakoro, Gauraka, Gupena, Gusun, Hashimi, Ibo, Iku South, Kuurmin Sarki, Ikume and other.

Tafa is a local government area of Niger state with administrative center in town of Wuse and the area council contains districts of Tafa, Dogon-Kurmi, Garam, Ija, Iku, Jakoro, New Bwari, Wuse and Zuma.

Wushishi Local Government Area has its headquarters in the town of Wushishi and the area council covers the districts of Wushishi, Zungeru, Tukunji, Yamigi, Sabon Gari, Maito, Lokogoma, Kwata, Kodo, Akare, Barwa, Gwarjiko and Kanwuri.
