Sokoto State Local Government Areas

Binji Local Government Area is situated in the town of Binji and the council area covers district and villages like Bunkari, Gawazzai, Inname, Jammali, Maikulki, Samama, Soro, Gabas, Yamma,T/Kose S/Gabas, S/Yamma and Samama.

Bodinga Local Government Area is situated in Bodinga town, as the area council is made up of Bagarawa, Danchadi, Dingyadi, Badawa, Sifawa, Lukuyawa, Jirago Miyo, Kwacciyar Lalle, Kulafasa, Mazan-Gari, Takatuku, Madorawa and Bodinga.

Dange Shuni Local Government Area has its adminstrative center in in Dange town, among other communities of the area council are Wababe, Salu, Tsehe, Tuntube, Tsafanade, Rudu, Amanawa, Rikina, Gajara, Giere, Fajaidu, Shuni, Ruggar-Gidado and Dange.

Gada Local Government Area is located in the town of Gada, as the adminstrative center as the area council consists of other communities of Gilbadi, Duka Maje, llah, Kwarama, Kyadawa, Holai, Tsitse, Kaffe, Kaddi, Kadassaka, Kadadi, Buda, Gada, Wauru etc.

Goronyo LGA is one of the serving twenty-three LGAs in the state as the adminstrative headquarters is located in Goronyo town, with the council area made up of Takakume, Tasakko, Kwakwazo, Kojiyo, Kagara, Giyawa, Boyekai, Birjingo, Rimawa, Shinaka etc.

Gudu Local Government Area has its headquarters in Balle town, with the council area covering other communities and villages of Kurdula, Maraken Bori, Tulun Daya, Karfen Sarki, Karfen Chana, Gwazange, Boto, Chilas, Makuya, Bolle, Bachaka and Awulkiti.

Gwadabawa Local Government Area is a town and also the area headquarters among other communities of Asara Kudu, Asara Arewa, Chimola Arewa, Chiomola Kudu, Gidan Kaya, Gigane, Salame, Mammande, Huchi, Gwadabawa and Atakwanyo making up the LGA.

Illela Local Government Area is situated in the town of illela, as the council area consists districts of Damba, Araba, Darna, Sabon-Gari, Garu, Kalmalo, Darne, Tozai, Illela, Katta, Hamma, Tsolawa, Abarura and Dango.

Kebbbe Local Government Area is found in the town of Kebbe and the area council consists other communities of Sangi, Margai i & ii, Ungushi, Kebbe-East, Kebbe-West, Girkau, Fakku, Nasagudu, Zugu, Jabga, Budun, Dukura and Kuchi making up the LGA.

Kware Local Government Area is a semi urban-town and an area council headquarters, among other communities of Durbawa, Basansan, Bankanu, Saki, Mallamawa, Tunga Walake'e, Modibbo, Marabawa, Birni, Akwara, Rugga, Umaruma and Hamma Ali.

lsa Local Government Area is domiciled in the town of lsa, among other communities of Turba, Yanfako, lsa North, lsa South, Bargaja, Gebe i& ii, Tidibale and Tsabren, Tozai, and Sarkin Darai making up the LGA.

Rabah Local Government Area has its headquarters in the town of Rabah, with the area council consisting of other communities like Tursa, Yar Tsakuma, Tsamiya, Kurya, Gandi I & ii, Gawakuke, Gwaddodi, Gidan Bu Wai, Rara, Rabah, Riji and Maikujera.

Sabon Birni LGA is one of the active serving twenty-three LGAs in the state situated in the town of Sabon-Birin, with the area council comprising Gatawa, Gangara, Kalgo, Lajinge, Kuruwa, Tara, Sabon-Birin east and west, Tsamaye and Unguwar lalle.

Shagari Local Government Area adminstrative center is in the town of Shagari, among other communities of the area are Gangam, Horo Birim, Jaredi, Kajiji, Kambama, Lambara, Mandera, Shagari, Dandin Mahe and Sanyinnawal making up the LGA.

Silame Local Government Area is a town doubling as the area headquarters of the council, which covers others communities like Labani, Silame, Gande-East, Gande-West, Katami-North, Katami-South, Marafa-East, Marafa-West, Kubodu South and Kubodu North.

Sokoto North Local Government Area is in the capital city of Sokoto covering districts of Magajin Rafi i &ii, Waziri I & ii, Musulimi i & ii, Sokoto North, Sabon Adar and Magajin-Gari,

Sokoto South Local Government Area is located in Sarkin Zamfara and the council area consists districts of Sarkin Zamfara i & ii, Dorowa i & ii, Gagi i & ii, Tudun Wada i & ii, Adar Kwanni, Dandi, Rujin Sambo, Rijiyar Dorowa, Mabera ldi, Salami and Mana.

Tambuwal LGA has its headquarters in the town of Tambuwal and the area council consists districts of Tambawal, Dagon Daji, Jabo, Sanyinna and Gindi making up the LGA.

Tangaza LGA is an active LGA in Sokoto state located in Gida Madi town, as the area council comprises of other communities like Gurdam, Tangaza, Salewa, Sutti, Sakkwai, Ruwa-Wuri, Raka, Magonho, Gidan-Mida, Kwacce-Huru and Kalanjeni.

Tureta Local Government Area is an LGA and town serving as the adminstrative headquarters with the area council comprising of Gidan Kare, Bimasa, Kuruwa, Kwarare, Lofa, Gari, Barayar, Giwa, Duma, Fura Girke and Tureta.

Wamako LGA is a semi-urban town doubling as the adminstrative center for Wamako LGA, consisting districts of Kammata, Gedwa, Gwamatse, Kaura, Kamba, Wammakko, Kalambaina, Gwamatse, Gumbi, Wajake, Bado, Kasarawa, Dundaye, Gumborawa, Akiyia, Gidan-Buba etc.

Wurno LGA counts as one of the active twenty-three LGAs in the state with its adminstrative center in Wurno town with the area council covering Achida, Marafa, Magarya, Lahodu, Dinawa, Wurno, Kwargaba, Sisawa, Chacho, Alkammu, Dankemu and Marnona.

Yabo Local Government Area is among the oldest LGA in the state and is situated in town of Yabo, with the area council consisting of other communities like Binji, Bakale, Bingaje, Birniruwa, Fakka, Kilgorii, Ruggar lya, Yabo i & ii and Torankawa.
