Okpokwu is one of the local government area in the state located in the town of Okpoga and the area consists districts of Ichanna, Orokam, Otukpa, Owukpa, Okpoga and Edumoga.

OBI LGA has its administrative headquarter in the town of Obarike-Ito and the area consist districts of Ito, Adudu, Agwatashi, Akanga, Uwokwu and Igede, as each of the district contains villages and clans farming in the local government area of the state.

Oju is a Local Government Area with its headquarters in the town of Oju and the area comprises the districts of Igede central known as Oju and Uwokwu also known as Oju II, each having other villages such as Abelega, Adega, Abofutu, Adiko, Ameka & Akunda.

Makurdi is the state capital, also serves as the LGA headquarters of Makurdi LGA, which consists the district of Makurdi (Rural) containing the vilages of Adaka, Adeke, Ajam, Agbadu, Agbeshir, Agenada, Akaan, Aki, Akigwe, Akpehe, Akume, Alla and Anter.

Ohimini LGA is located in the town of Idekpa-Okpiko and the area contains the major district of Onyagede and communities of Ogodu, Enumona, Ogoli, Ogande, Umonomi, Okpiko, Iyaya, Idekpa, Awume and Ikpoke.
